Uber Amber Lounge After Party
Don't you just hate working weekends! This time last year the Surrect lensing department jetted off to some place called Monte Carlo to film the Formula 1 post party events hosted by Uber club, Amber Lounge.
We started on the Friday afternoon bravely wading through seven foot tall swimsuit models backstage at the Elizabeth Hurley Beachwear collection. The statuesque bikini clad models were joined on the poolside runway by F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Adrian Sutil and Jaime Alguersuari. The audience included Miss Hurley herself, David Furnish, Sir Jackie Stewart and Boris Becker to name but a few.
The charitable event, which was hosted by F1 presenter Jake Humphreys and the gorgeous Victoria Silvstedt, was organized by The Elton John aids foundation in association with Amber Lounge and Martini to raise awareness of the on-going fight against aids in Africa.
The conclusion of the show saw everybody head straight from the runway and into the Amber Lounge itself for a few drinks and a little boogie... until 6 in the morning!
On the Saturday we started the afternoon by filming the Amber Lounge hospitality event aboard Eddie Irvines Yatch, which is anchored in Hercules harbour a meagre ten meters away from the famous Monaco race track. Enjoying the grand prix qualifying from the yatch was Eddie himself, Rachel Hunter, The Suagrbabes, Eastenders actor Ricky Norwood and good few models from the previous days fashion show.
Having successfully documented the yacht and it's various distractions we jumped in a transfer and jetted across the harbour back to the Amber Lounge to prepare for the nights filming of the famous "F1 Ladies Night". The night involved a 5 song set by the SugarBabes and an incredible DJ set by the spectacular Martina Kaiser who kept the models and grid girls grooving into the early hours.

The main event took place on the Sunday night, passes to get in were priced at 900 euros for standard entry or 15,000 euros for an exclusive table. Having settled our growling tummy's with 30 euro cheese burgers courtesy of the adjacent Le Merridien hotel we set up outside to film the arrival of Monte Carlo's glitterati. The party played host to current F1 Champion Jenson Button and a few other Driver such as Heiki Kovalien and Felipe Masa, the SugarBabes were again in attendance as was Gerrard Butler of 300 fame. Keeping the celebrities moving was Super DJ Pete Tong. The party proved so popular that Indie band Razorlight were turned away! We finished filming around 4 am and jumped straight in a taxi to Nice airport to catch our flight home.
All in all an eventful job. I won’t bore you with the travel carnage and volcano based airport hell. I'll just say I managed five different countries in 15 hours on no sleep, oh and try to avoid that horrible airport in Belgium at all cost!
